Education IT outage affects subpoenas

The Department of Education advises there is a planned outage for OneSchool and its associated services from Friday, 4 April, to Tuesday, 15 April.

The department will be unable to respond to any subpoenas or court-ordered requests for student information stored in Oneschool during the outage.

If practitioners require student information that is held in Oneschool for court proceedings before or during the Oneschool outage, they should send the subpoena or court-ordered request to rti@qed.qld.gov.au by no later than 3pm on Wednesday 26 March.

Further time may be required to process other legislative requests for student information such as applications made under the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld) and Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld) due to the Oneschool outage and the school holiday closure period.

Certain school records may also be obtained directly from school principals under the department’s Access to records held in schools procedure and any requests for school records under this procedure should be sent directly to the school.

Further information about the school holiday closure periods and how to access department information is located on the Department of Education website
